Asantehene Speaks Publicly about His Ga Visit for the First Time

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has for the first time publicly shared his experience on the land of the Ga people of Ghana during his visit in the sixth month of this year.

Following the Asantehene’s Silver Jubilee celebration, the Ga Mantse and President of the Ga Traditional Council, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, hosted a durbar on June 9 to welcome and honour him during his visit to Ga land.

Speaking publicly about the experience three months later, Otumfuo said he had savoured every moment of the durbar and wished it hadn’t ended.

“It’s all about brotherly love. He left his home and stayed with me for about a week for my anniversary. So when I went to Accra, I decided to extend my felicitations. He received us with a beautiful event. I enjoyed it very much. I didn’t even want to leave,” he said during a courtesy visit by the Ga Mantse to the Manhyia Palace on September 12, 2024.

In his remarks, His Majesty relived the beauty their union projected as a model and exemplar for the world to learn from.

Otumfuo enumerated the kind of things Asante and Ga will be able to accomplish in Ghana with the weapon of unity and harmony in hand.

He noted that peace and development reside in the virtue of unity and so must be earnestly sought and approached.

Nii Ga was in the company of Nii Ahene Nunoo, the Paramount Chief of Abo La, Otseame Laryea II, his linguist, Naa Suomo, the Queen of Mambrobi, Dr Bishop Lawrence Tetteh, the Founder and President of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Nii Boye Abbey, a member of his office, Edward Darlington, his lawyer and others.
