Otumfuo Orders Withdrawal of Court Case in Damprane/ Buokrom/Denteso Land Dispute

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has issued an order for Damprane, Buokrom and Denteso to withdraw the pending court case over their boundary dispute.
The three are embroiled in a dispute that has to do with their territories.
At the Kumasi Traditional Council meeting on February 24, 2025, Denteso accused Damprane and Buokrom of land incursion, assertions that were denied by both.
It was found that all three parties had taken legal action against themselves despite having the case before the Council.
While delivering a verdict on the case, Otumfuo ordered that each of the parties withdraw their cases from court.
“Anyone with a court case must direct his lawyer to take steps to withdraw it immediately before I attend to it.”
Chastising the parties for upholding dispute at the expense of tradition, Otumfuo indicated there is a designated land for Damprane as well as Denteso.
“There is a reason I sent Damprane to their present location. It forms part of the reason I don’t shake his hand; I pat him on the back instead. It was due to Damprane that my grandson was saved from dying.
“He sacrificed himself to be buried alive. How dare Denteso engage in litigation with him. Cease that immediately and learn about the tradition. I took him there way before Denteso. I directed Buokrom to apportion part of his lands to Denteso.”
