Otumfuo Appreciates Efforts of Nananom Towards Burial Rites of Late Asantehemaa

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has expressed profound appreciation to Nananom for their efforts in supporting the burial of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the Asantehemaa.
This was when Asanteman Council reconvened on October 16, 2025, after its sittings were suspended for two months to make way for the burial rites of the late Queen.
At the meeting chaired by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace, Otumfuo commended Nananom for honouring their vow to be at his beck and call at all times.
“I would like to thank you all. You honoured your vow to stand by me and assisted in observing tradition.”
His Majesty noted that the time-tested and well-preserved traditions of Asante received admiration from people across the world and brought manifold honour to the Kingdom in the aftermath.
The Queen passed away on August 7, 2025.
Her burial rites were held from September 15 to 18 drawing some world leaders and other dignitaries to Kumasi.
