Asantehemaa Dɔte Yie: How Today’s Final Burial Rites Will Unfold

A number of diplomats joined the third day of burial rites for Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Asantehemaa, on Wednesday.

They extended their sympathies to the King when he sat in state on September 17, 2025, to welcome guests from across the country and beyond.

The envoys were Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Berenice Owen-Jones, Spanish Ambassador to Ghana, HE Ángel Lossada Torres-Quevedo and Suriname Ambassador, HE Fidelia Graand-Galon.

Also present were Barbados High Commissioner, HE Juliette Byone-Sutherland, Rwanda High Commissioner, HE Rosemary Mbabazi and representatives of France and Burkina Faso.

The carefully planned burial rites, which started on September 15 with a series of activities, will come to an end on September 18.

Her Majesty will be buried on the last day at Breman Baamu.

Filing past is reserved to take place sequentially among dignitaries and the general public from September 15 to 18, between 5 am and 5 pm, except for the last day, when it will end at 11 am to make way for a burial service at 3 pm.

A key point to note is the institution of the restriction on outdoor movement effective 7 pm on September 18 to make way for the burial of Her Majesty.
