Asantehene Receives Report on Rising Land Disputes In Asanteman

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has received a report about a rising number of land disputes among traditional authorities under his realm.

The report was submitted to the Asantehene by Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe three days ago.

The report includes a list of Chiefs involved in the dispute, Otumfuo disclosed during Asanteman Council meeting on October 16, 2025.

Denouncing the development, Otumfuo stated that all disputes relating to lands must be channelled before him for resolution.

“If you think another chief has taken part of your land, bring the issue before me and I will look into it. You don’t have to take the law into your hand and engage in violence.”

The Asantehene resolved to summon said chiefs individually and privately to speak to them.

In the meantime, His Majesty charged anyone with a land dispute to exercise restraint until they are amicably resolved.

“Don’t push me to summon you publicly. Put everything on hold until I review the disputes.”
