Asanteman Mourns: Programme Outline for Asantehemaa’s Burial Rites

An outline for the burial rites of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Asantehemaa, has been issued by the Manhyia Palace to guide Nananom, government officials and the general public who may join the event.

The carefully planned rites will witness a series of activities from September 15 to September 18, when the rites will come to an end.

Filing past is reserved to take place sequentially among dignitaries and the general public from September 15 to 18, between 5 am and 5 pm, except for the last day, when it will end at 11 am to make way for a burial service at 3 pm.

These days will also see the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, sit in state as the chief mourner.
