Don’t Let Anyone Intimidate You With My Name- Otumfuo to New A/R Police Commander

The Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has encouraged the newly appointed Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Arthur Osei Akoto, to push against any form of intimidation from persons purportedly sent by him.

His Majesty has directed him to verify and confirm all communications that are conveyed allegedly from him, as he noted that he would never send third parties.

“If anyone comes to you with my name, tell him you are going to verify and confirm. I won’t send anyone. If I have any information for you, I will cause a call to be placed to you. Don’t allow yourself to be intimidated by my name.”

DCOP Arthur Osei Akoto replaces COP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe as the Regional Commander.

It comes after Mr Teye-Cudjoe was reassigned to the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) at the national headquarters following his promotion to Commissioner of Police (COP).

A delegation led by the outgoing Commander visited the Manhyia Palace on November 5, 2025.

The Asantehene welcomed the new Regional Commander into his abode with warmth as he expressed joy over the merit-based promotion of the COP.

Among the delegation of the outgoing regional commander were CP/Mr. Francis Kouame Somian, Deputy Regional Commander; Chief Supt Frederick Hammond, the Manhyia Divisional Commander; and DSP Godwin Ahianyo, Ashanti Regional PRO.
