Education Remains Most Reliable Path to Liberation from Poverty- Asantehene

The Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has intimated that education is the most reliable panacea to poverty.
Addressing the 59th Congregation of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on November 29, 2025, he emphasized that education stands as an insurance for a better future.
“Our graduands stand before us as proof that education remains the most reliable path to empowerment, liberation from poverty and deprivation, to the attainment of a brighter and more purposeful future.”
While conferring degrees on 221 Doctors of Philosophy graduands, the Asantehene, who is also the Chancellor of the institution, celebrated their dedication, sacrifice and perseverance.
“As chancellor and advocate for education, moments like this give me immense pride and fulfilment. Today we gather to celebrate the triumph and dedication, sacrifice and perseverance.”
His Majesty challenged them to be beacons of intellect and resilience and prove themselves as leaders, innovators and agents of transformation.
Present at the ceremony were Nananom, Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice Chancellor Prof Rita Akosua Dickson, Chairman of Governing Board Akyamfour Asafo Boakye Agyemang-Bonsu, Ashanti Regional Minister Frank Amoakohene, and others.
