How Asantehene Touted Ghana’s Labour Force to Austria

In projecting Ghana as a viable and prepared hub for trade investment and collaboration, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, touted the labour force of Ghana.

Aside from the rich natural resources, the “quality” of the abounding manpower resources was emphasized.

His Majesty told the Austrian Ambassador to Ghana that the labour force is equipped with the needed skills and knowledge.

“The manpower resources are here. We’ve trained so many students in Engineering, Agriculture, etc. The universities are churning out very qualified people.”

Otumfuo affirmed that investments were needed from friends like Austria to create employment for the youth.

“What we need in Ghana isn’t aid. We need to trade and collaborate so it will be a win-win situation. We do this to create employment for our people.”

The envoy visited the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on May 23, 2025.
