Ivorian Ambassador Sympathises with Otumfuo Over Queen’s Passing

The Ivorian ambassador to Ghana, HE Assiélou Felix Tanon, has conveyed his sympathies with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, over the demise of the Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The envoy was out of the country during the period, he told His Majesty when he paid a courtesy visit to the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on October 15, 2025.
“I travelled out to Côte d’Ivoire and while there, I heard the news about the fallen tree.”
The Embassy was, however, represented during the four-day burial rites, which were held in September.
He therefore used the opportunity to personally convey his commiseration.
“I would like to say, ‘Yaakɔ’.”
The four-day burial rites climaxed with a burial service on September 18, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, led by the Anglican Church.
The Asante Kingdom was joined by President John Dramani Mahama, Deputy Eswatini Prime Minister Senator Thulisile Dladla, Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Former Second Lady Samira Bawumia, former First Lady Nana Agyemang Konadu Rawlings, IGP Christian Yohunu, BoG Governor Dr Johnson Asiamah and others were also present.
