Manhyia: Asantehene Hosts Veep

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has hosted the Vice President of Ghana, HE Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

The courtesy visit to the Asantehene was on Monday, September 29, 2025.

His Majesty and the veep held a private engagement.

Her Excellency was in the company of her Chief of Staff, Alex Percival Segbefia; Presidential Staffer & Special Aide, Professor Theresah Ennin; Policy Adviser, Economic, Prof. Sharif Mahmud Khalid; Press Secretary, Maame Ama Pratt; and other staff of her Office.

The delegation was led by Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene and the Kumasi Mayor, Hon Richard Boadi-Agyeman.

The visit was part of the Vice President’s one-day working visit to the Ashanti Region to inspect key market projects, including the Mampongteng Market, the Suame Market, which was razed by fire and the Krofrom Market.

The visit was principally to embark on an inspection of the Market Enhancement Project.
