My Judgements Have Never Been Influenced By Bribe – Otumfuo

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has stated that he has upheld integrity, moral principles and virtue in his judgements throughout his 25-year reign over the Asante Kingdom.

In his submission during a visit to the Manhyia Palace by Sub-Metro, Municipal and District Imams of the Ashanti Region led by the Regional Imam, Sheik Abdul Mumin Haroun on Saturday, May 18, 2024, he asserted that he has been loyal to the oath he swore while ascending to the Golden Stool.

According to him, the oath to stay firm and honest has been followed to the book.

His Majesty credited the spiritual support he receives from religious bodies through prayers, for the grace.

“My position requires prayers. All I need is prayers. I always tell Nananom that I am not here because of my good looks and if I would be able to deliver on my mandate, it will take the direction of the one who put me here. Looking at how far I have come which is garnering commendations from all around, the credit goes to your prayers.

“I swore to be loyal and honest 25 years ago and I pray that God gives me the spirit to stay true to the oath. I don’t need money. To the glory of Allah, I have never taken a bribe from anyone to deliver a judgment in their favour. All I seek is your prayers and the support of Allah. I appeal to all Imams across to remember me in their daily supplications.”
