Nana Konadu Yiadom III Was An Exemplar of Wise, Fair and Gracious Judgement- King Charles

King Charles of the United Kingdom has described the late Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, as an exemplar of wise, fair and gracious judgment and counsel.

He observed that the Asantehemaa devoted her lifetime and reign to preserving the traditions and unity of the Ashanti Kingdom.

His Majesty is in no doubt that the legacy of Her Majesty will continue to transcend generations to come.

“With her many years’ experience of guidance, leadership and tireless service to charitable causes, which touched the lives of so many mothers and children, Her Royal Majesty leaves a lasting legacy for your Kingdom,” he conveyed in a letter to the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He used the occasion to commiserate with the Asantehene, the Oyoko Clan and the entire Asanteman for the loss.

“I was profoundly saddened to learn of the recent death of your dear sister, the Asantehemaa. Above all, I wanted to send my deepest sympathy to Your Majesty, the Oyoko and all the people of the Ashanti Kingdom at this time.”

“Her passing is an immense loss which I know will be keenly felt in the Ashanti community around the world. My special thoughts and prayers are with Your Majesty and your family at this very sad time, and my wife joins me in sending our most heartfelt condolences to all those who share in your mourning.”

The Queen passed away on August 7, 2025, at her residence at the Manhyia Palace.
