Newly Appointed British High Commissioner Pays Courtesy Visit To Asantehene

The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Christian Stefan Rogg, has paid a courtesy visit to the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The visit to the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on October 10, 2025, was in the company of Terri Sarch, the newly appointed Development Director.
The visit formed part of efforts to deepen the longstanding diplomatic and cultural ties between Ghana and the United Kingdom.
He also used the occasion to formally introduce Sarch to the King.
HE Rogg assumed office in July 2025.
He was appointed British High Commissioner to the Republic of Ghana in succession to HE Harriet Thompson.
Previous Diplomatic Roles
Between 2006 and 2009, he served in Accra as Head of the Governance and Growth Team at the UK’s Departments for International Development (DFID), a role that gave him in-depth familiarity with Ghana’s political and economic landscape.
His return to Ghana as High Commissioner marks a significant homecoming and a continuation of his long-standing engagement with West Africa.
Mr Rogg recently served as Director for Development and Open Societies at the FCDO from 2023.
Prior to that, he was Director for Development, Parliament, Coordination and Capability between 2021 and 2023.
His extensive diplomatic record also includes senior roles in Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Vietnam, and the UK.
