Otumfuo Marks 6th Awukudae In 2023

The sixth Awukudae of the year was observed by the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

Visitors, traditional rulers and royals joined His Majesty to mark the auspicious occasion.

Among the guests were Lawyer Mujeeb Rahman Ahmed and Lawyer Kwamina Mensah; a delegation from Trade and Diaspora Consultancy Limited; a delegation from The Church of Pentecost; Asanteman Senior High School, Dagomba Community, Miss Teen Tourism Organisation and the Zabarma community.

Lawyers

Lawyer Mujeeb Rahman Ahmed and Lawyer Kwamina Mensah were accompanied by the Ghana Bar Association led by National President Lawyer Yaw Boafo and former Chief Justice, Justice Anin Yeboah.

The lawyers presented a special edition of a law book they have authored to Otumfuo. The book has been dedicated to the occupant of the Golden Stool for his outstanding role in championing peace through the settlement of disputes. The Presentation was done ahead of the book launch.

The book, the King was told will be a precedence for all lawyers across the country.

Trade and Diaspora Consultancy Limited

A delegation from the Trade and Diaspora Consultancy Limited also joined the King to inform him about their intent to work and enrich the Kingdom through collaboration.

The members of the delegation were from countries including Brazil, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Church of Pentecost

Another delegation from the Church led by Apostle Daniel Yeboah informed Otumfuo about their upcoming crusade at Amakom in Kumasi and sought his permission and blessings.

The event aimed at winning lost souls will be held at the Heroes Park from August 22 to August 26.

Asanteman Senior High School

The school introduced their new headmaster, Mr Nathaniel Antwi Asamoah and informed His Majesty about their upcoming 70th Anniversary.

As part of the anniversary, they sought permission to design and decorate their school entrance with a replica of the golden stool. A prototype of the design was presented to the King.

Also, two students who represented the school at a recent debate competition were introduced to Otumfuo together with their won bronze medals and trophy.

Dagomba Community

Also among the guests was the Dagomba Community in the Ashanti Region.

The group introduced to the King their new chief in the region, Alhaji Fuseini Abubakar. Accompanying him were some members of the community as well as representatives of Dagbonwura, Ya-Na Abukari II.

After relaying a message of gratitude from Ya-Na, the community presented a citation to the Otumfuo in recognition of his role in restoring peace to the Dagbon kingdom.

Miss teen Tourism

The organisers, sponsors, reigning winners and contestants of the 2023 Miss Teen Tourism were also among the guests.

Speaking on their behalf, media personality, Stacey Amoateng led their introduction.

She also informed the King about the upcoming grand finale scheduled for this Saturday.

Zabarma Community 

The community introduced their leadership to  Otumfuo and informed him about a school and mosque that have been constructed by the Zabarma chief imam.
