Otumfuo to Embark on Two-Week US Trip, Take One-Month Leave After

The Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has announced a planned one-month leave of absence for next month.

His Majesty made this known to the Occupant of the Silver Stool, Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, at a Kumasi Traditional Council meeting on August 17, 2026.

The Monarch will embark on a two-week trip to the United States of America in the coming days.

“I will be away for two weeks. Asanteman is in your care during the period. The trip is packed with a lot of activities from the first day,” he said.

Otumfuo further stated that upon his return, he will take a one-month leave of absence before resuming official duties.
