Roadmap For Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III’s Burial

The Manhyia Palace has issued a detailed road map for the burial of the Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, to guide Nananom, government officials and residents.
The burial rites will kick off on Sunday, September 14 night, where the needed rites will be performed for the remains of the Queen to be laid in repose.
The opportunity to file past and pay last respects to the late traditional ruler will commence on September 15, after the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has paved the way in the morning.
Paramount chiefs will also have the privilege in the morning, while the general public will take its turn in the afternoon.
September 16 morning is reserved for Kumasi Abrempong, with the general public later in the afternoon.
The next day (September 17) will be exclusive to the members of the National and Regional Houses of Chiefs, as well as traditional authorities from across the country, the clergy, government officials and the diplomatic community.
President John Dramani Mahama and past heads of state of the country will take their turns on September 18, on the last day.
From September 16 to 18, the King will sit in state to welcome mourners from across the country.
Ban On Outdoor Movement
A key point to note is the institution of the restriction on outdoor movement effective 7 pm on September 18 to make way for the burial of Her Majesty.
Funeral Ban
There is also a ban on funerals, which takes effect on September 2, 2025.
Within the stipulated period, no one is permitted to undertake any form of funeral across Asanteman.
This ban will expire on September 19.
