While seated in state on the first day of the four-day burial rites of the Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, a ‘divine’ message was delivered to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene.

This was while traditional priests took their turns before His Majesty to pay homage and convey their condolence.

One of the priests appeared to be uttering some words when his turn came. As he spoke, an intermediary listened and whispered his words into the ears of His Majesty.

The King was captured smiling as the message flowed.

Traditional priests have been central in the ongoing burial rites, holding traditional worship and actively demonstrating their mystical powers and spiritual connections.

The carefully planned burial rites will witness a series of activities from September 15 to September 18, when the rites will come to an end.

Her Majesty will be buried on the last day at Breman Baamu.

Filing past is reserved to take place sequentially among dignitaries and the general public from September 15 to 18, between 5 am and 5 pm, except for the last day, when it will end at 11 am to make way for a burial service at 3 pm.

A key point to note is the institution of the restriction on outdoor movement effective 7 pm on September 18 to make way for the burial of Her Majesty.
