May God Grant Me Some of Asantehene’s Wisdom- Buipewura

The Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Council, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, wishes for a portion of the wisdom of the Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

His desire is on the back of the mandate he now wields as the Vice President of the National House of Chiefs.

“Greater is the mandate and so I pray that God grants me some of the wisdom he has endowed you with.”

The Buipewura made the wish and prayer when he visited the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, particularly to express his gratitude to His Majesty for blessing his aspiration ahead of the National House of Chiefs.

Appreciation
In the election conducted in November 2024, the leader of the Buipe Traditional Council in the Savannah Region successfully won the Vice President position.

At the Manhyia Palace on February 26, 2025, the traditional leader expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Asantehene.

“Before entering the race, I came to you one night to inform you about my objective. It was a very competitive election for me. I was the only aspirant from the northern part of the country.

“You encouraged me and assured me I will be victorious. I garnered 54 out of the total 73 votes cast. Your blessings and encouragement have brought me this far and so I had to come to express my appreciation.”

He also thanked Otumfuo for being a dependable backbone to his rulership as he recalled how the Asantehene’s intervention spared him from being deskinned in 2011.

“You have opened the doors of your home to me at all times. People do not know but I was almost deskinned some time ago but then {after beseeching Nana} he told me to be rest assured.”

“I brought my Imam here to pray for you. My earnest wish is for you to live long so that Ghana continues to benefit from your presence…I came to express my gratitude today. You are my God on earth.”

Confidence
Otumfuo in his speech expressed his confidence in the competence of the Vice President of the National House of Chiefs.

“Prior to the election you came here to inform me and by the power of God, you emerged victorious. I know you will deliver satisfactorily.”

Otumfuo describing the Buipewura as his son, patted him for his humility throughout the years.

“I have known you for a long time. You have not changed. You continue to be humble and respectful. Stay that way…I have also observed how you have been supportive of all the three Yagbonwuras who have reigned in your tenure.”

Unity
His Majesty further counselled him to unite with the President of the National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, in delivering on the mandate bestowed to them.

“Work to make the House imminent, efficient and effective.”

Delegation
The Buipewura was accompanied by Buipe Traditional Council, including Danyanwura, Jawasewura, Kunshiwura, Koliwura, Koyapewura, Mandewura, Neripewura, Chaliwura and Masheri-Ase Wuche.
