Asantehene Meets Anglican’s New Archdeacon of Manhyia

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has met the Anglican Church’s new Archdeacon of Manhyia, Venerable Opoku Twumasi.

The meeting took place at the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

He will be replacing Venerable Enock Duah who now takes over Bekwai in a recent reshuffle that has taken place in line with the tradition of the church.

“It has become imperative that we bid farewell to Venerable Duah. He will now superintend over Bekwai. Meanwhile, Venerable Opoku Twumasi will take over Manhyia,” Rt Rev Oscar Amoah, Bishop of Kumasi said while introducing them.

On his part, Otumfuo said, “The hard work of Venerable Duah is evident here and I can only hope he works hard in Bekwai to grow the church there as well.”

“The incoming archdeacon should also take note to do his work accordingly,” he added.
