Either Africa Begins Building Her Heaven Or Perish In Her Hell- Asantehene

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has stated that Africa has two options on the table as the world stands.

The first is to rise above the odds to fight for a better future or be consumed by its challenges.

The Monarch observes that the age of ideology is dead and therefore Africa will have to put behind the era of whining and moral outrage over its past.

According to His Majesty, the new horizon world makes no room for the unproductive.

“We may still hold on to the belief that all men are created equal but in the world on the horizon, all nations are not equal. Equality is now a function of the balance sheet. National sovereignty is assumed by the power of the economy so either we begin and focus on building our own heaven or we perish in our own hell,” His Majesty said at a banquet held for King Mswati III on June 27, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace.

In working towards a better Africa, the Asantehene said economies must be built to be able to compete on equal terms with the European, Asian and American countries.

“This is no delusion. We can if we are. There is no land mass on planet Earth richer in the resources of nature than Africa. We have had an accumulation of human resources with the requisite education to manage any constructive economic venture and we are available to choose from models of development that have worked in countries in other continents and in circumstances not different from our own.”

The King therefore highlighted the effective utilisation of natural resources to herald industrialization; an agricultural revolution that will turn virgin lands into the grannies of the new world; and the embrace of science and technology including Artificial Intelligence.
