Freezy Macbones Happiest Person on Earth After Asantehene Blessed His Boxing Gloves
Seth Gyimah, nicknamed Freezy Macbones, could not hide his elation after he had the rare opportunity of having his boxing gloves soaked in the blessings of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The sensational Ghanaian boxer popular for his thick thwacks was at the Manhyia Palace with Samuel Inkoom, a former Asante Kotoko Sporting Club and Black Stars player, when he joined the fifth Akwasidae festival of the year to pay homage to the King.
Among his missions were to congratulate Otumfuo on his 25th Anniversary on the Golden Stool, present him with a portrait of his academy jerseys, and donate some headphones to the Manhyia Palace.
The founder of the S-Inkoom Football Management Agency (SIFMA), through Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, Kontomponiaferehene, introduced Macbones, who had come with his daughter, to the King as his partner in his agency.
“Macbone came along with his gloves and requested that His Majesty bless them for him as he continues to pursue higher heights,” Nana Apinkra said.
His Majesty engaged the two in a tête-à-tête, apparently stuffing them with some wise counsel, during which he laid hands on the sportsmen to bless them.
He also took the gloves and prayed over them, after which he handed them back to Macbones.
Macbones, while making his way out of the crowd, put the gloves on and beamed with joy as his greatest wish had been fulfilled.
The boxer in September 2023, lost his middleweight bout to Senegalese opponent Seydou Konate in the 2024 Paris Olympics Games qualifiers in Dakar.
Earlier this year, he pulled out of Ghana’s amateur squad for the Olympic Games qualifiers, noting that he now intends to focus on grooming himself as a professional boxer.
“I have decided to spend the rest of my career developing as a professional boxer and focusing on promoting great events with Macbones Promotions.”
The Akwasidae festival was held on June 23, 2024, at the Manhyia Palace.
