Helicopter Crash: Death of 8 Should Stoke Ruthless War Against Galamsey- Asantehene

The Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to take decisive action in rooting out illegal mining, known as galamsey.
According to the Monarch, the death of the eight compatriots in a helicopter crash while en route to an event relating to the fight against the canker must be a wake-up call.
His Majesty sees the need for a ruthless war against galamsey as a way of atoning for the death of the victims, which included government officials.
“The deaths of the eight people must not be in vain. The pain must be diverted into fighting galamsey and making it a thing of the past,” Otumfuo said this during a courtesy visit by Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister.
