I Desire to Face Humanity with Truth and Integrity- Asantehene

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom after over two decades of remarkable leadership devoid of controversy and stain, says he wishes to carry on in the same direction.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is trusting his maker for the needed grace and help to discern and follow the right path.

“It’s the Lord God who gives me direction. He should give me the courage to face any human being with the truth and be very honest with every person that I come across,” he said at a dinner held by the University of Cape Coast in the Central Region on September 6, 2024, after he was honoured for his service to the nation.

He also credited the support and guidance of traditional authorities within his realm for the success he has chalked so far as the 16th Occupant of the Golden Stool and dedicated the award to them.

“To Nananom, I received this yesterday because you made it so. 25 years of your support made it possible for us to be recognized by this university and therefore the award was received in your honour. And to all those who supported us through this journey, I thank you also for your support and I still will count on you to give me the guidance and the support to be able to be a good leader for you and serve in humility and in integrity and to be truthful to you and God.”

Raising a toast to his inclusion as an alumnus of the school, Otumfuo thanked the leadership of the school for the honour.

“I owe you gratitude; the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor and all those who took the decision to honour me here. I do not take the honour lightly at all. I received it yesterday with humility.”
