Otumfuo Receives Official Invitation to Seychelles President-elect’s Inauguration Ceremony

The President-elect of Seychelles, Patrick Herminie, has invited the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to his inauguration.

The inauguration is set to take place on October 26, 2025.

He finds the presence of the King relevant due to the shared bond between the Kingdom and the island country.

After reading the letter, the Asantehene, in accordance with tradition sought the permission of the Council to attend or otherwise.

There was an affirmative response as Nananom believed the King’s attendance would further enhance the Kingdom’s image.

Seychelles’ main opposition leader, Patrick Herminie, won the presidential election, defeating incumbent Wavel Ramkalawan in a runoff, according to official results released by the electoral commission.

Herminie received 52.7% of the votes, compared with Ramkalawan’s 47.3%.
