Asantehene Welcomes Eswatini King With A Royal Reception

Why Asantehene Thinks King Mswati’s Visit to Ghana Was Timely

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has held a befitting reception to welcome the King of the Eswatini Kingdom, Mswati III at the Manhyia Palace.

This was on the second day of his visit to Ghana on June 25, 2025.

The eminent guest of the Asantehene was accompanied by his wife, Her Royal Highness Inkhosikati LaMagongo; his elder brother, Prince Mgcuciso; the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Pholile Shakantu; the Minister for Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqaba Khumalo; and others.

Joining Otumfuo for the welcome reception were Nana Otuo Sereboe II, Juabenhene; Nana Samgba Gyafla II, Sampahene; Nana Kwame Baffoe Pim IV, Nkoranzahene; Nana Effah Appenteng, Bompatahene; and other Asante chiefs.

The Head of State is in Ghana for four days on a reciprocal visit.

His Majesty strongly believes his reciprocal visit to the Asantehene will further cement the partnership between his Kingdom, Asante and Ghana.

“It is with great pleasure that we reciprocate his gesture seeking to further solidify our partnership. Our aspirations extend beyond cultural exchange as we have immense potential for cooperation in technology, tourism, trade and education. The possibilities are beyond us,” he said in his speech at the National House of Chiefs.

Earlier in the day, King Mswati III addressed the National House of Chiefs and then toured the Manhyia Palace Museum.
