Asanteman Treats German President to a Royal Welcome at Prempeh I Airport

The President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier has been honoured with a royal reception at Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
His visit to Kumasi on Tuesday, November 3, 2025, is part of his three-day state visit to Ghana.
Representing Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at the airport was Odeneho Okyere Kusi Ntrama, Essumegyahene, who led a delegation from the Manhyia Palace to give him an undiluted Asante welcome reception.
He stepped out of the plane to a captivating Kete performance by the royal dancers before the necessary welcome rites unfolded.
Present at the airport were Frederik Landshöft, German Ambassador to Ghana, Nana Owusu Sarpong, Mpobihene, Baffour Kantankrankyi, linguist of the Asantehene, Mr Ernest Saahene, Chief Protocol Officer for the Manhyia Palace, Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Michael Owusu Amoako, the Chief Director of Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council and Richard Agyeman Boadi,
Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly,.
President Steinmeier is scheduled to perform a sod-cutting ceremony at the Kumasi Technical Institute before holding an engagement with Chancellor, staff, and alumni of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
He will also visit the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research before paying a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace.
President Steinmeier is scheduled to depart Ghana on Tuesday evening.
