Lady Julia’s Desire is to See Me Succeed- Otumfuo

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has publicly praised the role of his wife, Lady Julia, in his reign, noting her unwavering desire for his success.

According to him, she has proven to be a formidable force behind him, being an understanding and supportive life partner.

Speaking about her during his Thanksgiving Service at the Manhyia Palace, His Majesty urged the over thousand clergymen present to factor his wife in their prayers.

“My wife has been a formidable force behind me till now please pray for her. She is not troublesome, she is not selfish and she is selfless. Her prayer is to see me succeed. Please pray for her for me because she is behind me.”

Otumfuo also thanked Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III whom he said always prays for him.

His Majesty counts himself lucky and blessed to have met his elder sisters-many of whom are now deceased- who gifted him ageless and priceless gift of their counsel as well as the unity of all the royals in his realm.

His biggest appreciation was directed at his courtiers, who according to him, have served him faithfully.

“My courtiers are very important to me. I thank them so much. Courtiers make Asantehene a Monarch. They walk barefoot on heated ground. I have long instructed that sandals be made for them in carrying out their duties. Indeed the sandals were made but they refused to wear it stating they will continue to walk on barefoot because they can’t wear foot wears when I am wearing one. This shows how much they love me. They serve me faithfully. The clergymen should remember my courtiers in prayers as they are important to me.”

He finally appreciated his children and grandchildren for their much-needed assistance.

As part of his 25th enstoolment anniversary, Otumfuo held a non-denominational a thanksgivinig service at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Friday, April 26, 2024.
