President Ouattara Scheduled For Manhyia Visit Tomorrow

The President of Cote d’Ivoire, H. E Alassane Dramane Ouattara will pay a courtesy visit to the Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Ahead of his visit, the Ambassador of Ivory Coast to Ghana, H.E Assielou Felix Tanon was at the Palace to formally introduce himself to the King and announced his three-day presence in the City.

“With all humility and joy, I come to present myself to Otumfuo. I am the new Ambassador to Ghana. I am son to a reigning chief in Cote d’Ivoire.”

He also relayed a message from the 82-year-old Head of State.

“Today, I come to relay a message from President Ouattara. He extends his good wishes and appreciation and wants you to know that all things being equal, he will come and pay a courtesy call on you tomorrow.”

Welcoming him to his abode, His Majesty expressed delight at the planned visit saying, “I’m glad he will be spending three days here and will escort his President here.”

The courtesy call by the President will precede the President’s Cup game between Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC and ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast later on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

The highly anticipated clash between the two African powerhouses will be held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi with His Majesty, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and President Ouattara expected to grace the event.

The competition will be held in honour of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who exits office early next year as well as in commemoration of his 80th birthday which is on March 29, 2024.

H.E Felix Tanon’s visit to the Manhyia Palace was on Monday, March 4, 2024, along with the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Simon Osei Mensah, Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCO), Mr Kudjoe Fianoo and Mr John Ansah, the Vice Chairman.
