National Best Cocoa Farmer Showcases Achievements At Manhyia Palace

The 2023 National Best Cocoa Farmer, Madam Adwoa Sintim has presented her achievements to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace.

The former student of St Louis Senior High School (SHS) was accompanied by her friends and daughter on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

She presented two plaques and a certificate she received to the King at the Palace, along with her Toyota Hilux.

Going back to the trajectory that led to the big win, she said her first award was in 1996 when she emerged as the District’s Best Cocoa Farmer.

“I was awarded a wellington boot and a cutlass. I didn’t get discouraged. In 2020, I was given the Regional Best Farmer. I was awarded a tricycle and a shoe.”

“In 2003, the first woman who won the National Best Cocoa Farmer was a woman, Nana Maaboa. She visited me once on my farm and told me I would take the award someday but I didn’t believe it,” she recalled.

In 2021 she recounted how her achievement as the Most Enterprising Female Cocoa Farmer in Ghana got her a KIA Bongo, an outfit and a shoe leading up to her biggest win.

“This year, I won the National Best Cocoa Farmer. I got plaques, a certificate and a Toyota Hilux.”

Asantehene observed that the feat was no mean one and encouraged her to seek higher heights.

“I noticed she had the heart for farming so I encouraged her to further on. She came with one of her awards here and I pushed her to seek the ultimate award. I will support her with my prayers so she goes higher.”
